Summary: Cynthia tries to fill her emptiness with another man after her breakup with John.

Cynthia had been actively pursued by a man who rode her transit bus on the way to college. He said he was too afraid to speak with her because every time he even looked at him he got a glare from John. She could sympathize for him. John was a scary fellow and had been extremely protective and possesive over her.

Clyde, the boy's name, began sitting with her often in class and walked with her in hallways for friendly smalltalk.

This evening they were at an annual town picnic at Strawberry Hill. They both walked around and laughed there together but she couldn't help but feel a friendship vibes.

Dear Stu,

How are you, sweetheart? I hope that you are having a marvelous time in Germany! I also pray that you don't let John destroy that little bit of innocence everyone back here misses so much! I know he is probably trying to break out George and encourage him to use his Teddy Boy potential!

Things here are just the same as when you left. I just miss my John so much! I even find myself crying at night because I am so afraid that he could be seeing someone else down there and they would be much more interesting than me and be some long-lost cousin of Brigitte Bardot[John's dream girl]! I guess it is my own insecurity and I know that he wouldn't..it's just that girls have never bothered to hesitate throwing themselves at him. They never have!

But that doesn't mean you cant bring back a nice German girlfriend home! You have always been so shy..so withdrawn! You need to live a little and I encourage you...gosh, now I sound like John!

This scene is not on the Long and Winding Road schedule, and is only in existance to help produce chemistry between the characters of Cynthia and John whose relationship starts way ahead of Hamburg.

Summary: Cynthia and John settle their differences and tolerate each other; their tolerance leading one wild night of fun and Cynthia doing the unimaginable with her school's most feared Teddy Boy.

Cynthia stood beside the record player leaning on the wall watching her friend Phyllis dance with a boy. She liked Rockabilly music and such, but being at parties...that was a huge step for her. And the boys! She was not the least bit interested in these artsy boys from her school. That and they weren't that into her. She was not very stylish and with the times in her dress. To be quite honest, she looked like her mother had dressed her.

Miss Powell was conservative as always in her dress and in her actions. She would not touch the alcohol at the party, not smoke the cigarettes passes around. People around her danced like mad. She felt like such an outsider.

John Lennon was the life of the party, too, which gave her reason to leave. He always called her "Miss Powell" and mocked her for acting so proper at school. Any party controlled by Lennon was no party she wanted to be apart of. Lennon scared her.
